I verket Släkttrådar skapar mångfalden och trådarna en berättelse genom att de ger de enskilda handskarna ett sammanhang: tvinnade människoöden. Jag har arbetat tredimensionellt men låtit tråd och stygn utgöra skulpturala teckningar.
In the work Family Threads the multiplicity and the threads create a story by giving the individual gloves a context: intertwining human fates. I have worked three-dimensionally, let the threads and stiches form sculptural drawings.

The work gloves all tied together, and in addition imprisoned in a giant spiderweb, describe personal family ties and collective memory, as well as the social legacy of the working class and a constraining method of production. Karin Häll is not interested in pleasing the aesthetically trained eye with Kantian beauty of a traditional order. She wants to disturb the habitual gaze with something deeper, that lies below the surface and is more subversive, more poisonous, and stubbornly obvious.
